Sizzix - Easy Mixed Media Florals | Creating Soft Artistic Cards

Hello and welcome everyone! Today I am back with some mixed media cards. I got some new Sizzix stamps by Willow Wolfe a couple of days back. I got so many ideas but mixed media screamed first...lol
There are lots of gorgeous new products in the Scraphouse shop. So my friends from Switzerland or Europe can check them out.

Mixed media cards always have a special charm - soft layers, beautiful textures, and a slightly imperfect artistic feel that makes every card unique. Today I’m sharing three mixed media floral cards created using Sizzix Studio by Willow Wolfe stamps, Distress inks, Spellbinders stencil and simple layering techniques.

What I love most about these cards is how easy it is to create soft artistic backgrounds and then build dimension with florals. Each card has its own personality while using similar supplies! I used

All the supplies are in the description box below for you to access easily (some have affiliate links at no extra cost to you but this helps me bring more content to you. I really appreciate it, thank you)

Card 1 — Soft Watercolor Floral Background

Start with watercolor paper for the best mixed media results
Apply Distress inks to create a watercolor wash
Stamp the delicate florals using black ink and color

Add texture using stencils, and various stamp images
Add light splatters for extra texture
Stamp sentiment vertically for a modern look
Mount onto a card base

Card 2 — Soft Layered Floral LOVE Card

Create a soft textured background using light distress ink watercolor
Add subtle texture using stencil and embossing paste
Stamp and emboss large florals onto vellum, color and fussy cut

Add bold sentiment "LOVE"
Finish with light splatters

Card 3 — Bright Mixed Media Floral Card

Create a vibrant mixed media background using multiple distress inks
Add texture using various stamps, stencil, texture paste.
Stamp and color florals in bright tones

Cut out florals and leaves
Arrange florals diagonally for movement
Add sentiment
Finish with splatter

What I love about mixed media is that there’s no right or wrong way. I feel it's a perfect way to de-stress too.

I'd love to know - Do you prefer soft pastel mixed media or bright bold florals?
Let me know in the comments below - I always love hearing your thoughts!

Spellbinders - BPOM Club Kit

Hello everyone! Today, I am sharing a card using the "Betterpress of the Month " from the March 2025 Club Kits of the month from Spellbinders.

I really love the design of this press plate, so I decided to to the letterpress effect on cotton cardstock. Blended a few inks over it. I paired the sentiment from the Glimmer Club of March 2025 and some other products from the older releases, the flowers are from the Layered Anemone Etched Dies by Lisa Horton. Leaves are from the Be Bold Blooms. I used the Matt Gold foil for the sentiment.

All the supplies are linked below.

I added some details to the flower center using the white gel pen.

Sunny Studio - Thinking of You Card

Hello everyone! I am on the Sunny Studio blog with a mixed media card as my designer's choice feature today. I love creating layers while still keeping it one layer. So I used various stamps and dies, even used the dies as stencils.

I started by creating the background panel by adding some inks to the gelli plate. Take the print onto a white card. I then stamped the butterflies from the Watering Can stamp, using the pink ink. Die-cut the leaves from the Spring Greenery dies, use these as a stencil to sponge some leaves onto the panel. Flick some black watercolor.

Stamp the butterflies from the Watering Can stamp, add touch of color using copic markers and die-cut using the coordinating dies. Add spectrum noir clear sparkle pen. die-cut leaves from the Summer Greenery dies, thrice from the white card and also vellum. Die-cut the oval from the Scalloped Oval mat 3 dies, die-cut the word hugs in the center. Sponge some pink ink to the edges.

Die-cut the speech bubble from pink and yellow card using the Comic Strip Speech Bubbles dies, adhere the yellow to the pink slightly offset. Stamp the sentiment. Adhere the panel to the white card and adhere all the elements to it. I used 3d foam on some for added dimension.

Thank you for dropping by and have a nice day!

Sunny Studio - New Year Cards

Hello everyone! Isha with you, sharing some fun and bright New Year cards. Today the focus is on the GORGEOUS Forest Trees stencils. This is a set of three stencils, which makes it easy to create beautiful backgrounds.

Card 1: I started by sponging distress inks in cracked pistachio, peacock feathers, lucky clover, pine needles onto a white cardstock using the Forest trees stencils. I used all the three layers and repeated the process to fill the whole background.

I then flicked some pine needle, gold and white inks. Frame this piece using the Fancy Frames Rectangle.

Stamp the sentiment from the Seasons Greetings stamp set using versamark ink and emboss using WOW! metallic gold rich embossing powder. Die-cut using the coordinating dies. Die-cut one more piece using red cardstock and adhere this slightly offset behind the sentiment. Adhere this panel to a red cardbase. Add gold floss behind the sentiment and finish by using some Emerald Jewels.

Card 2: I sponged the background using distress inks in tattered rose, candied apple, abandoned coral, fired brick and aged mahogany as the above piece. The only difference is that I flipped the stencils to create the next layers. This gives a beautiful angled forest look. Flick, gold and white paint.Adhere this piece to the inner frame of the Fancy Frames die. Adhere this to a white cardbase.

Die-cut the snowflakes using the Lacy Snowflakes die. Add some gold paint. Adhere to the card. Stamp the sentiment from the Inside Greetings - Holidays stamp set.

These cards were quick to make and are perfect for mailing. Thanks for dropping by!

Sunny Studio - Side Step Fold Card

Hello Everyone! Today I have a fun fold card featuring the Picket Fence die at Sunny Studio Blog. I felt this kind of card was perfect to showcase this beautiful die and how it matches perfectly with the previously released products.

To start, I made the base of my side step card. Take a 5.5 by 8.5 inch white cardstock. Mark 2.5 inch from the left edge, along the length. Now on the 3 inch side, score at 6.25, 4.25, 3.25, 2.25 and 1.25 inches. Cut vertically along the marked line from the 6.25 score point to 1.25 score point. Fold the card onto the score lines and the card base is ready.

Sponge the sky on the left longer panel using pinks and yellow inks. Die-cut the fence three times with white cardstock, using the Picket Fence die. Die-cut the grass from the Gingham Jewel Tone pattern paper using the same die.

Emboss a white scrap using the Woodgrain embossing folder. Sponge vintage photo, fossilized amber and ground espresso distress inks. Cut using a pair of scissors to create the tree trunk.

Stamp images, color using copics and die-cut using coordinating dies.

Fairies, Butterfly, Flowers, Mushroom House: Garden Fairy Stamp and coordinating dies

Gnome, Mushroom: Home Sweet Gnome stamp and dies

Tree Leaves: Outback Critters stamp and dies

Mountains: Country Scenes Stamp and dies

Adhere all the dies and images as per the card photo and the card is ready. To finish, add some sparkles to the fairy wings, dots to the gnome hat and some clear sparkle pen to some flowers, fairy dress.

Hope you enjoyed the card. If you get inspired, don't forget to tag us on instagram @sunnystudiostamps. We would love to see your beautiful creations. Thanks for dropping by!

Sunny Studio - Magical Wishes Shaker Card

Hello everyone! I am on Sunny Studio Blog featuring our adorable Garden Fairy stamp set and dies. As you know I really like creating flat shaker cards and I felt this stamp was perfect to make one. It's totally dreamy, magical and added fun of all the glitter as shaker, perfect to give a big smile to any girl including me...lol

So I started by stamping all the images using the Garden Fairy stamp set, colored using copic markers. Die-cut using the coordinating dies.

Next, I die-cut some cloud borders from the Slimline Nature Borders dies using white cardstock and vellum.

Sponge a white panel using shaded lilac and Kitsch flamingo distress oxide inks, flick water and dab using a kitchen towel. Die-cut using the Fancy Frames Rectangle dies to create a frame. Adhere both the parts of the frame from behind to have a broad frame. Next adhere the white clouds to the top and bottom part of the frame, then goes the vellum cloud border. Now adhere a piece of acetate behind the frame. Add double sided tape to cover all the sides of the frame.

Adhere the center of the background piece to the white cardbase. Add some WOW! sparkle glitters Your Carriage Awaits and Crystal. Now remove the lining of the score tape of the frame and adhere this to the cardbase.

Adhere all the images using glue and 3d foam for various dimension. To finish, add spectrum noir clear sparkle pen to the fairies, butterfly and flowers.

Have a nice day!

Crafty Meraki - You Are Incredible

Hello everyone, I am on Crafty Meraki blog sharing a floral card using the fun spring color palette.

I started by stamping the florals from the Sweet Friendship stamp set using versamark ink. Emboss using WOW! metallic gold rich embossing powder. Sponge picked raspberry distress ink towards the center.

Stamp the leaves from the One of a Kind stamp set using versamark, emboss using the gold embossing powder. Sponge lucky clover distress ink. Fussy cut all the images.

Now to create the background, take a piece of yupo paper. Add green alcohol ink and blending solution. Add the color to your liking and let this piece dry.

Emboss this piece using the Sunny Studio Frilly Frames Herringbone die (to do this on the big shot die-cutting machine the sandwich is tab 1, clear plate, die facing up, yupo paper color side down, tan embossing mat, clear plate). Take a fine sandpaper and gently scrub the emboss part, it turns white and looks pretty in real life.

Adhere the cluster, stamp sentiment from the You Are Incredible stamp set. Assemble the card as per the photo.

Have a nice day!

Sunny Studio - Easter Wishes

Hello everyone! Today I am on Sunny Studio blog with a colorful and happy Easter card featuring our Eggs To Dye For stamp and dies. Now there are so many beautiful patterns of eggs in this set and I wanted to use most of them. Easter reminds me of my daughters and egg hunt...lol. My daughters have crossed that age now but then I found these cute bunnies from the Balloon Rides stamp set playing hide and seek around these colorful eggs. So cute!

I started by stamping lots of eggs with various patterns from Eggs To Dye For stamp onto white cardstock using versamark ink. I then sprinkled WOW! Opaque white embossing powder. Die-cut these using the coordinating die. Sponge the eggs using distress oxide inks. Wipe with a clean cloth to remove the ink from the embossed part.

Stamp the bunnies from the Balloon Rides stamp, color them using copic markers. Die-cut using coordinating dies.

Take a white slimline card, sponge worn lipstick distress oxide ink to make the sky. Flick some water to add texture. Die-cut the grassy hills from the Slimline Nature Border dies twice. Sponge using distress oxide inks in the shades of green. Adhere the grass to the card.

Place the eggs and the bunnies and adhere them onto the card. Stamp the hearts from the Meow & Furever stamp set.

Die-cut a frame using the Slimline Scalloped Frame dies. Adhere to the card. Stamp the sentiment onto black stripe and emboss using white embossing powder. Adhere to the card using 3D foam. To finish, adhere some Crystal Clear Fusion sequins.

Thanks for stopping by!
