Hello crafty friends!
Today I’m sharing a Christmas card with a bold, traditional color palette and lots of little festive details. I am using the beautiful Holiday Treasures press plate. This card is quite different from my earlier teal versions, even though I’m using the same collection cos there are lots of extra pieces from my crafty day...lol.
It’s always fun to see how simply changing the background color and arrangement can completely change the feel of a design.

I created the background in rich red using the Celestial Weave die, keeping it tone-on-tone so the texture adds interest without competing with the focal images. I love how this subtle pattern instantly gives the card a more finished and dimensional look.
For the focal point, I arranged the Holiday Treasures images across two shelves. The tiny tree, candles, gifts, houses, reindeer and other decorations are colored in cheerful pops of pink, red, turquoise, green and yellow. Against that deep red background, the lighter colors really stand out.
I placed the large holiday sentiment between the two shelves, which gives the design a nice balance while still allowing all those sweet little details to shine.
Here are the other cards I created previously. I wanted to create something festive but a little different from the traditional Christmas colors, so I went with a rich combination of deep teal, turquoise and touches of gold. I really love how elegant and modern these colors look together!
For the first card, I changed the composition completely and created a three-shelf arrangement.
I kept this one more graphic and structured, using the tiny houses, books, gifts, trees and decorative pieces to create a different little scene on every shelf.
The subtle gold details in the background tie everything together without taking attention away from the images.
For the second card, I arranged the images on two shelves, leaving plenty of white space in between. I added some delicate greenery using the Seasonal Sprigs Washi tape, around the shelves to soften the design and bring in a little more of that traditional holiday feel. The larger sentiment in the centre nicely connects the two parts of the card.
I love how the same collection can give such different results simply by changing the layout and the number of elements. One feels softer and more organic, while the other has a cleaner, more contemporary look.
