“One Stamp, Two Stunning Cards | Altenew Vellum Embossing & Watercolor Backgrounds”

 Hello crafty friends! Today I’m sharing a fun creative journey that started with a single idea… and ended up becoming two very different cards. I’m thrilled to inspire/create with you as an Altenew Ambassador for a couple of months :)

For these cards, I used the Charming Clusters stamp and die set (already on sale, if you want) from the November release. The coordinating dies include two floral clusters and six sentiment words, making it a wonderfully flexible set. I also incorporated the Vintage Motifs stencil for added texture.

The first card features a soft watercolor wash paired with delicate rose-gold heat embossing on vellum, distressed gold edges, and layered die-cuts. The look is elegant, airy, and beautifully detailed.

The second card uses the floral cluster embossed in copper, with ink-blended color on the back of the vellum, a soft pink watercolor wash, and stenciled texture in the background. This combination creates a brighter, more contemporary feel.

Both designs use the same stamp set — but the techniques completely change the final look. I love how versatile this set is, and I hope these ideas inspire you to try vellum embossing, watercolor washes, and layered die-cutting in your own projects.

Pinkfresh Studio - Heat Embossing technique with Press Plate

Hello everyone! I'm on the Pinkfresh Studio blog today, sharing two techniques, first we will heat emboss using the press plate and then use this panel to resist water-coloring using ink pads. Heat embossing using press plate gives a beautiful texture as the embossed part is not raised, instead it feels flat. This is a wonderful way to stretch your supplies. 

I used the Dotted Petals Press Plate, Thinking of You stamp, die and stencils, Print Shop: Modern Botanicals stamp, dies and stencils, Nested Elongated Oval Blanket Stitch, Joyful Day stamp and dies

To start use the Dotted Petals Press Plate onto the letter press system, apply clear embossing ink. Prepare the watercolor card stock with anti-static powder tool, run this through the die cutting machine. Sprinkle white embossing powder onto the panel and heat set.

Dab Waterfall ink to a clear sheet, spritz with water and apply over the panel. Continue with Paradise and Summer Shower inks. Add some flicks of Bubble Gum ink and let this dry.

Die cut the frame using the Nested Elongated Oval Blanket Stitch dies from white card stock, die cut a piece of vellum using the second largest die. Adhere behind the frame using 3D foam.

Stamp the images twice and sentiment from the Thinking of You stamp using Detail Black ink.

Add color to the images using inks through the stencils (Grassy Knoll, Paradise, Candy Violet, Lavender, Atlantis, Apricot)

Die-cut all the images and the sentiment using the coordinating dies.

Adhere one of the images behind the vellum, and adhere the vellum frame to the panel. Adhere the panel to a white cardbase.

Adhere the images using 3D foam. Using the sentiment die, die-cut one more piece from the Essential Glitter cardstock: Candy Violet. Adhere this behind the sentiment slightly offset. And add this to the card.

For the next card, use the same process as above for the technique panel. Next, instead of vellum I used white card stock oval die-cut and sponged Waterfall ink lightly.

I use the images from the Print Shop Modern Botanicals. Next, I added inks through the stencils (Waterfall, Seaside, Atlantis, Grassy Knoll, Olive, Raspberry Bliss, Apricot, Sweet Mustard, Clementine) Die cut using the coordinating dies.

I then, heat embossed the leaves from the Joyful Day stamp set onto vellum using white embossing powder. Die cut using the coordinating dies and adhere behind the floral cluster for some texture.

I matted the sentiment using black cardstock in a slight offset. Next adhere the Oval panel onto the card.

Pinkfresh Studio - Window Scene Card

Hello and Happy Monday everyone! Hope you had a wonderful and relaxing weekend. I have a peeking through the window scene card on Pinkfresh Studio blog today. The inspiration came from looking out of my window :)

The Mountains Stencils are perfect to create beautiful scenes. Along with them I used the Always Smiling Stamp, Stencils and Dies.

To start, I started by sponging inks (Lemon Whip, Bubble Gum, Waterfall, Sage, Candy Violet, Grassy Knoll) through the mountains stencils to create a scene. I then adhered a piece of vellum over it to have a translucent effect.

Die-cut a window using the Nested Arches die from white cardstock. Adhere to the panel using 3d foam.

Stamp the floral cluster from the Always Smiling Stamp set using Detail Black ink. Add color using inks (Sunshine, Peony, Raspberry Bliss, Grassy Knoll, Paradise) through the coordinating stencils. Die-cut using the coordinating dies. Adhere to the card. Stamp the sentiment using Raspberry Bliss ink, die-cut. Mat with a black die-cut for a shadow effect.

Pinkfresh Studio - Shaped Cards and Fun with Vellum

Hello and Happy Friday everyone! I am on the Pinkfresh Studio blog and today I have two shaped cards with fun techniques using vellum. Did you know, it's so easy to foil using the press plates onto vellum? And that we can use Pinkfresh Studio inks to color onto vellum too. It doesn't take much time to dry but if you are in a hurry, simply heat set using the low heat setting.

I love using vellum on my cards and sponging ink to the edges gives beautiful glow to the cards.

For my first card I used the Festive Foliage press plate to foil the image using Matte Gold foil. Using the coordinating stencils, I added inks ( Grassy Knoll, Evergreen, Passion Fruit, Candy Apple, Turquoise, Paradise) to the image with the 1/2 inch blender brushes.

Next I used the new bigger blender brush and applied Waterfall ink to the outer edges. Die-cut two pieces of white cardstock using the biggest die from the new Blanket Stitched Octagons dies. Score half inch from the top of one piece, add adhesive to the scored part and adhere to the back of the second piece to create a shaped base. Adhere the vellum layer to a white cardstock.

Die-cut a lilac frame using the Blanket Stitched Octagons dies. Adhere to the card using 3d foam.

Stamp the sentiment, sprinkle gold embossing powder and heat set. Adhere the sentiment to the card.

For my second card I used the new Playful Petals press plate to foil the image using Matte Gold foil. Using the coordinating stencils, I added inks ( Grassy Knoll,, Summer Shower, Soft Lilac, Lavender, Candy Violet and Regal Kiss) to the image with the 1/2 inch blender brushes.

Foil and die-cut the sentiment. Adhere to the card.

As for the above card, create the shaped card and assemble everything. Hope you enjoyed the playful vellum.

Pinkfresh Studio - One Layer Card using Masking technique

Hello crafty friends! Today I am on the Pinkfresh Studio card blog with a colorful one layer card using the masking technique. I feel, sometimes we need one layer cards for easy mailing and this is where this masking technique comes to play. I used the beautiful Amazing Things stamps, dies and stencils.

I started by stamping the image twice using the Detail Black ink and the Amazing Things stamp set onto a white panel. Next, I used the Amazing Things Stencils and added inks to the image. I used the Blending Brushes (1/4th and 1/2 inch).

Ink colors I used:

Flowers (Lemon Whip, Apricot, Sparkling Rose, Bubble Gum, Berrylicious, Candy Violet, Waterfall, Sapphire)

Leaves (Grassy Knoll, Key Lime, Waterfall, Berrylicious, Sapphire)

Next, using the Amazing Things dies, I die-cut two masks from masking paper. You can use copy-paper instead and adhere it with temporary adhesive Adhere the masks to the image. Sponge Sky Blue and Waterfall ink to the background. Flick some water and white paint and let it dry.

Remove the masks and see the beautiful one layer image with white outlines. Stamp the sentiment from the Joyful Day stamp set. 

To finish, adhere some Ice clear drops and adhere this panel to a white cardbase.

Pinkfresh Studio - Partial Die-cutting Technique Cards

Hello everyone! I am happy to be back on the Pinkfresh Studio Blog today with two cards featuring the partial die-cutting technique. The Never Give Up stamp is perfect size for the technique and the Joyful Day and Diagonal Plaid press plate complimented the project beautifully. The challenge theme for May is "Flowers", so this is an added motivation to use these gorgeous floral image.

To start with, I used the Diagonal Plaid press plate and created the pattern using Peach Fizz and Coral Reef ink with the Better press system. 

I then stamped the image from the Never Give Up stamp set using Detail Black ink. Use the coordinating die and instead of putting the second cutting plate above it, I used the cutting plate from mini die-cutting machine and put it on the center of the panel. This would cut only the center parts of the die, remove the extra using a craft knife to get the straight edge.

 

Take this panel and using the coordinating stencils sponge inks (Grassy Knoll, Paradise, Soft Lilac, Begonia, Coral Reef, Mulberry Blush, Peony, Sparkling Rose, Raspberry Bliss) to the image. 

Stamp the leaves from the Joyful Day stamp using watermark ink onto vellum, sprinkle opaque white embossing powder and heat set. Die-cut using the coordinating dies. Adhere parts of it behind the floral image.

 

Next I added vellum to the plaid piece to soften the background. Adhere the floral panel using foam tape.

Stamp the sentiment from the Joyful Day stamp, die-cut. Add a coral color die-cut slightly off-set and using 3d foam add to the card.
To finish, I added some Ombré Pixie Dust glitter drops. 

 

For the next card, I stamped the image to a white panel onto one corner using watermark ink, sprinkle opaque white embossing powder and heat set. Now put the coordinating die in place but put the second cutting plate on an angle towards the lower edge only. This would die-cut only the lower part of the image. Add color using stencils with these inks (Sage, Eucalyptus, Sunkissed, Peony, Soft Lilac) 

 

Sponge a panel using Sunkissed, Sheer Freesia and Soft Lilac ink. Stamp the image using sunkissed ink. Using the stencil, tap white ink to the leaves and the small flower. 

Adhere the embossed vellum leaves to the back of the floral panel and then this panel to the inked panel using foam tape. I used the sentiments from the Joyful day stamp.

To finish, adhere the panel to a white cardbase and add some Champagne clear drops and Ombré Twilight glitter drops.

Crafty Meraki - You Are Incredible

Hello everyone, I am on Crafty Meraki blog sharing a floral card using the fun spring color palette. 

I started by stamping the florals from the Sweet Friendship stamp set using versamark ink. Emboss using WOW! metallic gold rich embossing powder. Sponge picked raspberry distress ink towards the center.

Stamp the leaves from the One of a Kind stamp set using versamark, emboss using the gold embossing powder. Sponge lucky clover distress ink. Fussy cut all the images. 

Now to create the background, take a piece of yupo paper. Add green alcohol ink and blending solution. Add the color to your liking and let this piece dry. 

Emboss this piece using the Sunny Studio Frilly Frames Herringbone die (to do this on the big shot die-cutting machine the sandwich is tab 1, clear plate, die facing up, yupo paper color side down, tan embossing mat, clear plate). Take a fine sandpaper and gently scrub the emboss part, it turns white and looks pretty in real life.

 

Adhere the cluster, stamp sentiment from the You Are Incredible stamp set. Assemble the card as per the photo.
