Paisley Birthday

Sorry friends....Blogger is playing on me...its an old post which I lost during the last blogger problem and yesterday got it back...lol.

Yup!!! my 2nd. post for today, I am loving my new Penny Black Paisley BG stamp and the look of tall card. Added bonus Kathy's color combo. To give me a push...these lovely handmade flowers. So here is my entry for the color challenge at Lilypad. I made these flower as per the requirement at the Create blog. As I started with stamping from scratch, I am still collecting the basic supplies and dont have a collection of ribbons and fabric. So made this flower with felt and the inside flower with 1 inch Ribbon. Hope it would count as fabric flower. I hardly use so many layers on my card, so another new thing for me...lol.

My take:
I used markers and water to stamp the Paisley background. To me it looks so pretty that I want to flaunt its beauty. So the thought of handmade flower as an Accent seem perfect choice to me. I layered both the handemade flowers and added a button in the center. Embossed the sentiment onto the Vellum and my card is ready. I am planning to give it to a friend, who has her B'day next week.

Papertrey Ink May Blog Hop Challenge

Its time for the Papertrey Ink Blog hop and this time I couldn't resist the challenge because it is one of my favorite theme.
The challenge is to create something with flower theme. Check here. I made an all stamped card because the currant challenge at Wee Memories is all about stamping....love this challenge blog.
Sorry folks, no description today as I still have fever and cold. To be short, I colored the flower using distress inks.

I somehow like it without sentiment. What do you think??  TFL.

I have been thinking about the challenge at CAS-ual Friday since the challenge is up but somehow couldnot do it. I am glad that I could make 1 in time. Love love this new challenge blog. The super creative DTs....So the challenge is to use Twine and Button.
For my interpretation I used the Charcoal twine from the Twinery and to highlight the sentiment a cute De-Nami button.

My Journey from Happy...Happier....Happiest

This is a bit long post...pls. scroll down for the card.
My lovely friends....today I want to share my journey from being happy to happiest in the stamping world. So I started stamping with close to none supplies and some colors from my art kit. Without thinking much about how my cards look became member of HA flickr group. Making stamped cards made me happy....then I started participating in the challenges...I was discovering my creativity all over again...it made me happier...
Then without thinking what all was involved, started a Blog...of coarse felt little ashamed, when I would see all beautiful Blogs but making all those lovely friends was more important...how my Blog looks, didn't matter much.
Now I feel like the happiest person as I have friends, whom I can count on...who motivate me with their kind n sweet words...make me work n think harder in a positive way...helped me with choosing and buying the supplies and also some RAKs and some Tips....because of those things I finally took another step towards my dream.....
So I want to share with you all that I have one card being published in Nov./ Dec. issue of Paper Crafts Magazine. Maybe it wont interest some of you...all this talk but I really want to share this with you all personally....YAY!!!
Some wins to share:

I am still doing the happy dance and then got the packet from my last win. I got my new Penny Black stamp...YAY!!! so I had to ink my fingers and what better way then to dip them in the colors provided by Kathy for the challenge at Lily Pad. So this card is my way of thanking the DTs at Lily Pad for choosing my card as the winner for Lucys sketch and to Penny Black for this lovely gift. I am also submitting it for Penny black challenge.

Just a Hello

I want to share another Happy news at my front...my This card made it to the CREATE Blog. I am so so happy...hope I will be able to sleep after this whole week of excitement. Thank you my friends for your constant support and sweet motivating comments. I am so grateful to God, for keeping blessings on me as I was feeling kind of low, when I started with my card making. I worked in Advertising for 2 years as a junior designer and also in Graphic designing Team for 8-9 months...but that is Once upon a time (15 yrs. back). Left my job after I got married and then had kids. I have no regrets but lately, I've been missing my work and since there is a huge change in everything, cant start, where I had left:(( So have to change my profession, if n when I start work.
Anyhow, I am feeling happy all over again.

Now, I  love receiving cards from all over the world and Deborah use to organize the Card Chain Challenge, which now has a new home at Lily Pad.I made my card based on the sketch, colors and Theme...hope whoever gets it, will like it.
TFL.

Happy B'day

Today I was feeling kind of dull but after seeing this post at Hero Arts blog, I was on cloud 9. Now that my feet are touching the ground again after the happy dance. Thank you so much Hero Arts for picking my card.

Now back to reality, I really like the challenge at Wee memories, its about paper piecing and so is at Simon says stamp.
Here is what I came up with:
Supplies: Card (Migros), Stamps (Practicing Creativity, sentiment Penny Black), Twine from The Twinery, Pattern papers from stash
I paper pieced the Cycle with basket and gift and the Pennants. Added a bit of Twine here n there and some glossy accent on the cycle wheel. Fun, sort of CAS and effective. Well thats my style I think, thou I am still not sure but my cards end up being CAS or Elegant or Fun. So I am submitting it at the challenge at Paper play too. TFL.

For Mom

Mother's day is so near and today I want to share the card I made for my Mom. She is my inspiration. I learnt to be patient from her...she just has amazing patience. Being a doctor and always busy, she use to make sure of our every little need. She use to sit near us, when we would have exams (University) and needed her comfort while studying whole night, can never forget that. She always encouraged me n showed me how to do beautiful Embroidery. So the inspiration behind this card is my Mom. Pls. click on the photo to see it clear. I am submitting for the Hand stitching challenge at CREATE blog

Supplies: Stamps Hero Arts (CL379,CG245), Embroidery thread and lace from stash, Pearls Pizzazzaplenty, Ranger distress ink Antique linen and Barn Door
I colored the edges of White card with some distress inks and stamped the image. For the flower in circle, I stamped it with black. Colored the flower with Red and leaves with shades of green using my pencil colors. I then did the Hand embroidery on to the petals and leaves. To finish, stamped the sentiment and some pearls and a Red bling on the O of the word Mom.
Hope you like it. TFL

Happy Birthday

First I want to share my happiness with my friends. My card won the Lucy's sketch challenge at Lily Pad blog here. I couldnt even believe and was really jumping with joy...Thank you everyone at Lily Pad for making my day.

Now onto the new card I made last night. I made this card for a dear friend, who has B'day this month. I used the lovely colors from The Play Date Cafe challenge. Lovely combo. I am just in time cos couldn't take a photo as its raining heavily since morning...lol I am also submitting this for the challenge at Simon Says Stamp (Anything goes)  and Lawnscaping challenge.

Supplies: Stamps (Hero Arts and Papertrey), Distress Inks and Embossing powder from Ranger, fiber and card paper local.
I used Hero Arts woodgrain stamp to clear emboss the grey card, then distressed the edges. I then stamped the leaf on some textured Lime green paper. Stamped the flower with white and colored in red using pencil color and distress ink. Finally embossed the sentiment on Vellum and some faux stitching.

Oriental Thank You

I was thinking about this challenge at Allsortschallenge Blog, with theme being Oriental. My mind wandered to Oriental screen and then fabric. Over at the Moxie Fab World, Cath is having a tissue paper challenge and thought about tissue and  Faux Silk technique. So I created this card with all the elements in it and using the colors from PC Color challenge.
Supplies: Stamps (Hero Arts, Rubber Stampede), Ranger distress ink, Perfect Pearl

I wrinkled the tissue and then highlighted it with some distress inks. I then stamped the image with Gold and Pink inks. After that glued it to white card and added perfect pearls. I cut the strip and edged it with pink ink. I then adhered it to gold card. For the Lantern, I stamped it on Vellum and embossed it with Gold and hanged it to the thread with some bling. To finish, I added the perfect pearl powder all over the card and stamped the sentiment. Its quite difficult for me to capture the soft Pearl shine in a photo. Hopefully the close up would show it better.
I made this for a friend, who really loves Oriental theme.
