Mother's Day

Hello everyone!
Since Mother's day is fast approaching, I created a card for my MOM using various collections by Richard Garay. My mom is a doctor, a famous one...so while growing up, I always saw her very busy and she hardly had time for hobbies BUT somehow she managed to have beautiful flowers around us and we would all have a couple of hand knitted sweaters :) She manages to find time about her passion for gardening and knitting besides being so passionate about helping the sick.

Anyhow, her love of flowers is what inspired me to create this card. I used 2 techniques for this card. Creating watercolor background and faux watercolor stamping.

Love how it came along. Here is another view for you:

And here are some steps by step photos :)

I started with dabbing my inks onto Ranger craft mat. Spritz with water

Next, put a watercolor cardstock onto this ink and water. Dry and if you dint like the color intencity, repeat the step again.

Ink the flower stamps using distress inks, spritz with water and stamp. We get different result each time.

In the similar way, ink the leaves, spritz and stamp.

Die-cut the diagonal stripe plate using white cardstock and layer it with the watercolored background piece. Die-cut the flowers and leaves. Create a collage of it.
Stamp and emboss the sentiment onto black cardstock. Assemble everything together.

Here is a close-up of the flowers

Have a great Day!!
